Culturescape: Measuring Cultural Geography
Cultural geography deals with the study of human culture as it relates to spaces and places. The focus is to analyze and describe ways in which social environment, socio-economic status, language use, activities, religion, and other cultural phenomena differ between places and spaces. Culturescape also deals with explaining how people function spatially - and how those functions shape the cultural landscape. As one cultural geographer observed:
“The cultural landscape is fashioned from a natural landscape by a cultural group. Culture is the agent, the natural area is the medium, the cultural landscape is the result."
